Remembering

My great uncle Jerry passed away in March. He was my grandpas' brother, who had passed away almost 1 year before. Uncle Jerry was a fire captain in Roseville for years, so instead of a military salute they had the fire department come do the Fireman Salute. When the announcement came that he had passed away the fire departments all over the city had their flags at half mast. Uncle Jerry's resting place is right where he wanted to be, next to his brother Ellis at the Roseville Cemetary. That will be the family meeting place now from year to year as family members that are around gather together to visit the graves of two wonderful men, fathers, uncles and brothers.

Just over a year to go we were bidding farewell to our grandpa. The headstone is now in place so it was great to be able to see that. Although, it is kinda creepy to see your grandma's name on the same headstone and she is standing right by you. (Is it possible to not have the living spouses' name carved into the head stone until after they are you know......?)
